Educational School Project - Competition on Equality

Autumn 2014

Jointly with the Department of Education, Gibraltar Pride 2014 will be organising a school competition that involves our younger generations whilst raising awareness on equality and diversity.

Comprehensive school students aged 11-15 will be invited to take part in a competition where entrants are invited to produce an essay, poem, drawing, sculpture, visual media piece or a musical piece around the famous quote from Nelson Mandela “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others”. 

Winning entries will be announced and exhibited in the Autumn following the start of the new academic school year.

As part of the various events associated with "Gibraltar Pride 2014" the committee was very keen from the onset to introduce educational aspects and are delighted to count with the cooperation of the Department of Education.
